Abby sat on her bed. She had a book. Abby looked at the book. But she could not read the words.

"I cannot read this!" said Abby. She was sad.

Reading was hard. It took a lot of EFFORT. Abby had ISSUES with the sounds.

Then Otto came in. "Hi, Abby!" said Otto. "What is the matter?"

"I cannot read," said Abby. "The words are too hard."

"I can help!" said Otto. "I will USHER in a new way to read."

"We will tap the sounds!" said Otto. "Look. Listen. Tap."

Otto showed Abby how to tap. "AB-BY. Two taps! OT-TO. Two taps!"

Abby tapped on her arm. AB-BY. OT-TO.

"I can do it!" said Abby. "Yes!" said Otto. "Now we can read together!"

Abby was glad. Otto USHERED in a new way. Now Abby can tap and read!
